SMSF Adviser Technical strategy day returns as in-person event

Momentum Media is pleased to announce that the SMSF Adviser Technical Strategy Day is back as an in-person event, offering attendees the chance to gain valuable CPD points and get up to speed with the latest developments.

Aaron Dunn, Smarter SMSF (left) will be MC for the day while BT Financial’s Bryan Ashenden (right) will lead a session delivering critical SMSF policy updates.

The event will be held in-person in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, and will provide up to 8 CPD points.

Each of the sessions will be presented by industry experts and will enable professionals to strengthen their SMSF value proposition and maximise outcomes for clients.

BT Financial Group head of financial literacy and advocacy Bryan Ashenden will be kicking off the day with a detailed overview of what’s happening on the SMSF policy front.

Cooper Grace Ward partners Clinton Jackson and Scott Hay-Bartlem will provide an update on the latest case law and developments in the estate planning space and what it means for SMSF succession planning.

Colonial First State head of technical services Craig Day will explore opportunities and strategies for SMSF clients emerging from the raft of changes that came in on 1 July.

With interest in cryptocurrency assets increasing, SuperGuardian education manager Tim Miller will give a detailed explanation of the record keeping and compliance requirements for keeping these assets in an SMSF.

The day will also include a regulatory update from the ATO and a panel session addressing some of the lingering practical issues with SuperStream for SMSFs.

Further speakers and details will be announced over the coming weeks.
