More than 540 members of the legal profession were in attendance at the Corporate Counsel Awards 2023 ceremony, where they mingled with their colleagues, cheered their peers, and networked with industry leaders.
Australian comedian and member of The Chaser team Julian Morrow assumed emcee duties and provided light and laughter throughout the evening.
The Corporate Counsel Awards is an unparalleled program that is the benchmark for excellence and provides national recognition for top-performing in-house legal professionals who have been influencing the profession and propelling the industry forward.
The awards celebrate the achievements of in-house lawyers, legal teams within organisations, as well as wellness initiatives.
They were judged by a highly regarded panel and, as such, are peer-reviewed recognition of the capabilities of in-house counsel and their passion for ensuring the industry thrives.
In his address to attendees at the awards ceremony, Lawyers Weekly editor Jerome Doraisamy said: “In a world characterised by rapid change and unprecedented challenges, corporate lawyers have shown remarkable resilience. They have adapted to evolving regulatory landscapes, navigated intricate business deals, and championed social responsibility initiatives.”
“Through their tireless efforts, they have not only safeguarded their organisations but also acted as agents of positive change, working tirelessly to promote diversity, inclusion, and sustainability within their respective industries,” he said.
“Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the 2023 Corporate Counsel Awards. May your accomplishments continue to inspire and shape the legal profession for years to come.”
