Momentum Media’s law brand Lawyers Weekly and principal partner Dye & Durham have crowned 40 winners at this year’s Australian Law Awards.
The Australian Law Awards recognise the leading professionals and firms in the business of law.
The 24th annual Australian Law Awards black-tie gala ceremony was held on 30 August at The Star, Sydney where the top-performing legal professionals and law firms gained national recognition for their hard work and achievements.
A total of 40 winners were chosen out of 360 finalists at this year’s awards across 22 individual and 17 group submissions-based categories, while the highest-scoring individual winner received the prestigious Excellence Award.
This year, that award was given to Herbert Smith Freehills partner Tony Damian, after he was named Partner of the Year earlier in the evening.
Over 800 members of the legal industry attended this year’s gala ceremony to celebrate the successes of their colleagues and network with industry leaders and peers.
Australian comedian, writer, and satirist Mark Humphries was the emcee and provided light and laughter throughout the evening.
The Australian Law Awards 2024 gala ceremony showcased the depth of talent of professionals and firms across the nation’s legal industry while affirming the sector’s essential role in supporting the expansion of Australia.
For the past 24 years, the awards program has championed those who dedicate themselves to achieving the optimal outcome for their clients while striving to propel the legal industry to new heights.
The pinnacle national program identifies the leading partners, barristers, general counsel, and in-house lawyers, as well as mentors, sole practitioners, and the rising stars of tomorrow.
Law firms, legal teams, and workplace relations and employment teams are also recognised, alongside firms with the best pro bono programs and wellness initiatives.
Organisations who have won awards have strengthened their position in the marketplace and distinguished themselves from their competitors when attracting and retaining top talent while for individuals, recognition has underpinned career advancement.
The winners were chosen by a panel of well-respected judges that included academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
