Mortgage brokers are being urged to come together at the industry’s event of the year to share innovative ideas about how best to grow the profession.
The Adviser will recognise and celebrate the leading individuals and businesses in mortgage broking at the 2016 Australian Broking Awards, to be held in Sydney on 1 July.
While the threat of digital disruption is ever-present, Sterling Publishing’s managing editor of mortgages and real estate, James Mitchell, said there is plenty of innovation already happening in the third-party channel.
“The great thing about the Australian Broking Awards is that in addition to celebrating those in the industry, it is also a meeting of minds,” he said.
“Disruption is only going to increase, which is why it is important to continue recognising the innovators in the third-party channel.”
This year, The Adviser will once again be awarding the 2016 Innovator of the Year award, an accolade that highlights the broker group or aggregator that has best developed and capitalised on innovation in FY15 – whether related to product, service, business development processes, technology, staff/client management or any other relevant area.
Sydney-based brokerage Home Loan Experts took home this coveted award last year. The firm also made the cut as a finalist this year, alongside Loan Market and Peasy.
“Innovation involves forward thinking and unique concepts, with the backing, drive and ability to realise them,” Mr Mitchell said.
“Whether you’re a finalist this year or just passionate about your profession, I urge you all to come along and help recognise the real innovators in the Australian mortgage industry.”
