Momentum Media was proud to host its inaugural financial services luncheon on Thursday, 16 February 2023 at The Loft, Jones Bay Wharf in Sydney, where it confirmed its exciting new acquisitions.
The invite-only luncheon hosted individuals and organisations that have formed strong associations with Momentum Media’s financial services brands and have shown steadfast support over the years.
These included Independent Financial Adviser (ifa), InvestorDaily and SMSF Adviser as well as Money Management and Super Review, which joined Momentum Media’s financial services portfolio recently.
Over 135 individuals attended the unforgettable luncheon to celebrate the new year in style and enjoy fine wining and dining. Attendees included a diverse pool of clients ranging from multinational banks, global and domestic fund managers, platform providers and technology solution providers.
They were treated to a four-course meal as well as an incredible wine tasting experience with Australian comedian Merrick Watts, who brought light and laughter in spades.
Weighing in on the luncheon, Momentum Media director, commercial growth, David Stratford said: “It's great to see leaders in financial services having entertaining and organic discussions together. This not only showcases amazing collaboration between great minds, it can also lead to new ideas and innovation within the industry.
“It’s an honour to lead this kind of initiative, now and into the future.”
Jordan Coleman, director, commercial growth at Momentum Media, said the luncheon “helped us build deeper relationships with our clients and show them appreciation for their support over the years”.
The financial services luncheon was so successful that Momentum Media will establish it as a staple in the industry’s calendar by running it as an annual event.
Momentum Media confirms expansion in financial services
During the luncheon, Momentum Media confirmed to the industry it had acquired leading financial media platforms Money Management and Super Review (in addition to all associated events, websites and other assets) from UK-based FE fundinfo in September 2022.
The acquisition represents a major milestone for Momentum Markets and its wholly-owned subsidiary Momentum Media – Australia’s leading business media and events company.
Born out of the 1987 market crash, and originally a part of the Fairfax suite of publications, Money Management and Super Review were established in 1988. They are universally considered as essential reading for financial planners, fund managers, superannuation and investment industry platforms.
Commenting on the exciting additions to Momentum Media’s suite of financial services brands, Mr Coleman said it presents a unique opportunity to expand reach in the financial services industry and will provide readers with even more valuable insights and analysis.
“Money Management and Super Review have a long-standing reputation for producing high-quality content that is well-respected throughout the industry.”
“By bringing these two outlets under our umbrella with ifa, InvestorDaily and SMSF Adviser, we can continue to build upon that reputation and provide our readers with the most comprehensive coverage of the financial services landscape.
“Additionally, this acquisition allows us to offer a wider range of advertising and sponsorship opportunities to our partners. This will enable us to provide even more value to our clients and help them reach a wider audience.”
“We are excited about the future and the potential that this acquisition presents. We are committed to providing our readers with the highest quality content and continuing to innovate and grow in the financial services industry,” he concluded.
