The Partner of the Year Awards are back for 2025 and are once again bringing you an unparalleled awards program that identifies the legal partners, or partner equivalents, across individual practice areas within the Australian legal profession.
The 10th annual Partner of the Year Awards, run in partnership with Principal Partner Commonwealth Private, celebrates the excellence of Australia’s top-performing law partners and partner equivalents.

The Partner of the Year Awards is a prestigious program that provides national recognition to law firm partners and partner equivalents across various practice areas in the Australian legal profession.
Recognising specialists from corporate and criminal to family, mergers and acquisitions – along with many other fields – the awards highlight professional excellence and innovation.

This year, there are 34 individual award categories available, covering areas such as banking and finance, class actions, dispute resolution, insurance, health, real estate, and taxation.
Some of the categories include Banking and Finance Partner of the Year, Corporate Partner of the Year, Litigation Partner of the Year, Taxation Partner of the Year, and Pro Bono Partner of the Year.
The diverse range of categories honour individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the legal profession.
The Partner of the Year Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Lawyers Weekly, Momentum Media and a panel of leading legal professionals, have developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading legal professionals.
The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s legal sector.
All businesses and professionals from across Australia’s law industry who meet eligibility criteria are encouraged to participate in the awards program.
