Momentum Media has bolstered its law and real estate suites with the elevation of two editors.
Effective March 2022, Momentum Media’s market-leading brand Lawyers Weekly will be headed up by Jerome Doraisamy, while Real Estate Business and Smart Property Investment will be led by Grace Ormsby in their new roles as editors.
Mr Doraisamy has been deputy editor of Lawyers Weekly since 2020 and replaces Emma Ryan, who has taken on the role of managing editor, Momentum Media.
Throughout his time at the brand, Mr Doraisamy has headed up The Lawyers Weekly Podcast Network, which comprises The Lawyers Weekly Show, The Corporate Counsel Show, The Boutique Lawyer Show and the newly-launched LawTech Talks and Legal Lightbulbs.
Passionate about delivering quality content across multiple channels, Mr Doraisamy has helped launch several key summits and award programs to the Lawyers Weekly database, including Pride in Law, and kicked off Momentum’s first-ever Masterclass series during the pandemic.
He holds bachelor degrees in both law and communications from the University of Technology, Sydney and is an admitted solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Ms Ormsby has been deputy editor of Momentum Media’s flagship real estate brands, Real Estate Business and Smart Property Investment since 2021, having previously served as news editor in 2020.
Host of the brand’s Secrets of the Top 100 Agents podcast, The WIRE and Proptech Pulse, Ms Ormsby is passionate about delivering easy-to-digest information and content relevant to her key audiences and stakeholders.
During her tenure, Ms Ormsby has been responsible for driving a number of new initiatives, including the sold-out REB REInnovate conference and REB Awards, and maintained the highly sought-after REB Dealmakers and Top 50 Sales rankings.
She holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) from the University of Newcastle.
Momentum Media managing editor Emma Ryan congratulated Mr Doraisamy and Ms Ormsby on their new roles.
“Having worked with Jerome and Grace for a number of years, I can attest to their tenacity in delivering outstanding content via all multimedia channels,” Ms Ryan said.
“The legal and real estate sectors have both seen tremendous change over the past two years and I’m excited to witness the continued evolution of the brands under Jerome and Grace’s stewardship.
“I have every confidence they will do an exemplary job.”

Commenting on his new role, Mr Doraisamy said:
“Lawyers Weekly is the biggest and most respected legal publication in the country, covering all demographics of the profession. At a time of significant ongoing challenges for practitioners of all stripes, it is especially pertinent that trade media provide timely, relevant and practical content for its audience. We strive, every day, to do this for legal professionals. I am thrilled to take over this challenge,” he said.
“I also want to thank the outgoing editor, Emma Ryan, for her extraordinary contribution to the legal profession over the past five years. Emma has left very big shoes to fill, and I can only hope to live up to her legacy.”
Ms Ormsby said was thrilled to continue the growth trajectory of the group’s real estate brands.
“It’s an absolute honour to be driving forward Smart Property Investment and Real Estate Business through to their post-pandemic phases, and continue to build on the strong growth trajectory that has been carved out over the past two years,” she said.
“The opportunity to continue building on the success of these two brands as editor is a responsibility I don’t hold lightly; I’m very conscious of the important space that real estate holds within the Australian psyche, and am committed to providing the most relevant news, opinions, analysis and insights to our highly-engaged business and consumer communities.
“I’m extremely proud to be leading such a highly-skilled and dedicated team as we continue to expand out the Smart Property Investment and Real Estate Business suites in ways that are not only informative, engaging and entertaining to our audiences, but cutting-edge in their delivery.
“We’ve had an absolutely stellar start to 2022, and with a number of new initiatives in the works, there's so much more to be excited for!”
