Momentum Media and mortgages brand The Adviser’s free SME Broker Bootcamp – which has opened for registrations – has been designed to help broker businesses diversify their lending capabilities and command a premium.
The SME Broker Bootcamp 2022 is returning for its eighth year, touring three capital cities in November.
The SME Broker Bootcamp is designed to offer a blueprint to tap into SME lending, understand SME clients’ businesses (past, present, and future), and strengthen SME client relationships.
With jam-packed sessions specifically designed for established or prospective brokers seeking to expand their revenue streams by breaking into alternative asset and commercial lending spaces, the free conference will equip brokers with key tools and strategies to enhance their client relationships and generate more revenue while optimising their brokerage’s value.
Facilitated by SME finance specialist and Accendo Financial partner Stuart Donaldson, the conference will paint the big picture on why a fully diversified brokerage is key to success.
Brokers will gain insights into “The Big Picture pathway” to SME broking, which is a simple but powerful roadmap that breaks down and quantifies the impacts of diversifying across different loan types on broking businesses.
They will discover the financial gains, the risk/reward payout, and how long it could take to flourish, as well as examples of pathways taken by other successful brokers.
The SME Broker Bootcamp will also include a session on how brokers could expand their SME database and leverage their broking advice to generate new leads. The session will provide tips on how brokers could become a source of information on alternative funding options for their clients and leverage their broking advice to attract new clients.
In addition, Mr Donaldson will provide the SME “Lending Compass”, a one-page procedure manual to facilitate deeper, more meaningful client conversations and produce quality lending submissions to meet the clients’ needs..
Moreover, as SMEs report that they anticipate growth over the next 12 months despite rising interest rates and fears of a recession, brokers will be treated to a session on how they could partake in their SME clients’ growth trajectory by remaining proactive and ahead of the trends in SME lending in the next one to five years, and setting up their brokerage for success in the year ahead.
Critically, brokers will learn how to become their SME clients’ trusted adviser by evolving SME conversations to focus on the fabric of the business and what drives business valuation.
Mr Donaldson will unpack different business structures and methods of business valuation, highlight key risks and mitigants for a business and how these could be transformed into opportunities and value drivers, and offer insights into how brokers could improve the value of their clients’ businesses as well as their own.
Throughout the conference, brokers will have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions, and network with their peers.
They will gain valuable insights through practical case studies and examples of other brokers who have successfully charted the path to diversification.
Annie Kane, editor of The Adviser, outlined that the event is a must-attend for brokers looking to diversify their offering and provide more solutions to clients.
Ms Kane said: “The SME Broker Bootcamp is a fantastic opportunity for brokers of all stages to learn from the best of the best about how to support small businesses in making their dreams come true.
